In this article, we will be covering how to assign a user to a task. Once you've created a task you'll need to staff it. If you are looking to open tasks to your roster for application, go here.

Pro Tip: If you are working with a staffing partner you won't need to assign a user as they will take care of this for you.

Here's how you'll assign a user:

  1. Select the red "Staff User" filter on your dashboard in the Tasks tab.

  2. Click the magnifying glass to the right of the task you would like to staff.

  3. Next, if you have a specific user in mind, use the search field to find them.

  4. Assign a specific user to work a task by selecting their name. If you need to know more about user availability status, go here.

  5. Select assign & close! That's it, you've assigned a user!

Check out the video below, where we demonstrate how to assign a user to a task on PINATA!

Pro Tip: PINATA helps you prevent double-booking whenever you assign someone to a task. If they’re working on another one that overlaps the same time, you’ll see a note ‘User is not available at this time’ when you try to assign. NOTE: If you change the time of the task when someone is already assigned and you want to check for conflicts again, you must re-assign the same user and press save.

How to Assign Tasks in Bulk

You can also assign tasks in bulk. By using the Check boxes on the left hand side you can select all tasks or a select few to either assign one user to or to share with your team. You can see that below:
